A cyber range is a simulation platform aimed at educating cyber security students, training and assessing cyber security practitioners, and testing processes and technologies in a true-to-life environment that simulates attacks, scenarios and networks.
Cyber Ranges provide hands-on training using security products, enabling trainees to practice detecting, investigating and responding to cyber-attacks.
Cyber ranges are interactive, simulated representations of an organization’s local network, system, tools, and applications that are connected to a simulated Internet level environment. They provide a safe, legal environment to gain hands-on cyber skills and a secure environment for product development and security posture testing. A cyber range may include actual hardware and software or may be a combination of actual and virtual components.
Cyber Ranges Can:Â
- Provide performance-based learning and assessment
- Provide a simulated environment where teams can work together to improve teamwork and team capabilities
- Provide real-time feedback, Simulate on-the-job experience;
- Provide an environment where new ideas can be tested and teams can work to solve complex cyber problems
Cyber Range provides the following services:
- Real-life experience in responding to and defending against rudimentary and complex cyber-attacks, including advanced persistent threats (APTs).
- Deep understanding of leading security methodologies, operations, and procedures.
- Advanced skills in deploying proven protection models and using the latest security tools and techniques.
- An experience that builds teamwork and responsibility management to balance workload and bring focus to core competencies.
- A foundation for your response team to help ensure that all members have the same core skills.
- Simplify Analyst Training and Provide an Effective Test-bed, Test processes and technologies
